Packing Party for Trip to Zambia

On May 10, 2011 a group of 8 volunteers will be embarking on a journey to rural Zambia with the mission of providing medical care to the pupils of Dwankhozi Basic School.  We want to chronicle our experience to share with those who have helped us along the way.  We could not have accomplished this mission without the love and support of all those who have walked with us.  We feel as though you all are joining us in our journey.

We will be spending a few days in the capital city of Lusaka upon our arrival. We will have the opportunity to visit our Zambian partners while in Lusaka. Once we get to Chipata, we will have the opportunity to have a medical clinic for all of the students of DH. The care will consist of basic exams and will include the support of local health care providers. We will also be providing educational classes on health & hygiene – focusing on hand washing and oral care. Each child will be provided a toothbrush and educational materials.

We hope to blog our experience as we journey through it, so keep checking in to see what we’re up to. Thank you all for your prayers and support! We are forever grateful! Learn More about the trip.

As my first blog post, I’d like to share with you some pics from our “packing party” – see below!  Two weeks in a foreign country indeed requires careful planning, preparations, and support.
