Day 1 – First Day in Zambia

Well, we’re coming to the close of our first day in Lusaka. We were greeted so warmly by our Zambian family – the Masala’s! It was so wonderful to see their faces – like we were coming home. We didn’t waste any time getting down to business. First, JR and Mat completed their requirements from the Ministry of Health to practice medicine in country. Then the nurses, Sandy, Missy and Beth took their turn at the Nursing Council. After many trips to the bank and buying a few cell phones we headed back to the hotel to get a little rest before dinner.

It has been in a lot to take in in such a short time! It is surreal to come to a place that is so different than what we know. I am SO impressed with this team and we’ve only just begun. I can’t wait to see what’s in store! Bye for now.
